2010 ExS Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
Dark purple red. Aromas of ripe, red cherry with black tea notes and hints of black olives, and black cherry. There is a lot of lift to the aroma, and this carries through to the entry with ripe, rich dark red cherry and blackberry flavors on to hints of citrus and a tease of orange. The wine has a firm structure for a Pinot Noir, which is a characteristic of our
Sonoma Coast vineyard, and the layered, darker ripe, fruit notes are not surprising in this vintage. A bit of brine and sea salt mingle with caramel and roasted red plums in the finish. This Pinot Noir is drinkable in its youth, however, it will benefit from a very light decanting in its early years’ of release. Being quite age worthy, the wine can be cellared for a decade or more and will soften beautifully with age.
