2011 Cabernet Sauvignon, Oakville
Deep red with hints of purple in color. Rich aromatics of ripe, black plum with notes of chocolate and leather. On the palate there is an explosion of rich, ripe black and red fruits and a touch of toasty oak on the entry, balanced with enticing black fruit flavors along with the full richness of blackberry pie, and roasted black fig. The tannins are plush and soft, typical of the best Oakville Vineyards. A velvety mix of cocoa, cassis and the slightest hint of rosewood round out the finish. This lush wine exhibits all the intense and delicious, fully expressive ripe black fruit characteristics you would expect and love from an Oakville Cabernet. The wine is generous and expressed purity of flavor for which the wines of Elizabeth Spencer are so highly regarded.
